Leadership and community health

Extending knowledge beyond the laboratory.

In 2023, Ruth founded Everwell Wellness and Care Foundation, a Nigerian nonprofit focused on health education, prevention and practical support in underserved communities. The initiative grew from community-led efforts such as Deworm1-Save a Life, which brought health education and intestinal-parasite prevention to local communities.

Everwell’s work has since included deworming, malaria-focused activities, hepatitis awareness, screening, reproductive-health education and referral support, with projects documented across Jos North, Mangu and Pankshin in Plateau State.

Ruth was selected as a 2023 Millennium Fellow through the programme presented by the Millennium Campus Network and United Nations Academic Impact, where she described Deworm1-Save a Life as her fellowship project.
